Each summer our team of 40+ young adults comes together on mission to LOVE kids with love of Christ through the language of play, SERVE families by providing the safest and most caring place to be a kid, and when we do this with Jesus we end up CLEARING a pathway to Him.
Evan Bryant and his wife Meg have served on Fircreek summer staff since 2008 in both paid and volunteer roles and in 2020 Evan became the Fircreek Director. The Bryant’s are both locals of Bellingham and their passion for developing young adults has been felt in local ministries such as CCF, The INN, and more.
“The key to becoming what God desires is first belonging and believing. We must receive our belonging in and to Jesus, then practice our belief in His good way for our lives. In doing so we open up the reality of what He always intended for us to become.”
- Evan Bryant
Since we are a day camp, kids go home each evening, providing an incredible opportunity for us to invest in our walk with Jesus together as a community. Through worship, prayer, Bible study, sharing testimony together and fun, we engage with one another in what God is doing in, through, and around us. We RECEIVE and RESPOND so that we might be sent out once again to REVERBERATE.
“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” - Jim Elliot

We believe that to share Jesus with the world, we must seek His kingdom first, not ours. So we ask that all paid summer staff adhere to The Firs’ doctrinal statement of beliefs.
We also have an incredible short term volunteer opportunity called the E.F.R.T. Program. Made up of these four key pillars, Energy, Faith, Responsibility, and Training. Through our short two week sessions we invite students ages 14-17 to join The Creek community and learn what it means to serve Jesus in the context of camp. Many of our E.F.R.T.s then go on to be incredible camp counselors and leadership staff. Check out our session dates below.
Session Dates 2022:
Session 1: June 26th-July 9th
Session 2: July 10th-23rd
Session 3: July 24th-August 6th
Session 4: August 7th-20th
We encounter God through song, His word, and through relationships built first through the language of play. If “Joy is the serious business of heaven” - C.S. Lewis, then we work hard! These relationships often open the door for us to introduce Jesus to kids and families from a place of love and care as God uses us as missionaries to seek those who don’t now Him yet.
